ABOUT THE RANKING


2021年BAM(Best Architecture Master’s Ranking)全球最佳建筑碩士項目排名,由西班牙教育機構(gòu)自2018年始發(fā)起。

The 2021 ranking of the world's best Master of Architecture Programs was organized by BAM (Best Architecture Master’s Ranking) an educational architecture platform founded in 2018, initiated by a Spanish educational institution. 


榜單參考11項教育績效指標(biāo)和41個分項指標(biāo)進行選拔,關(guān)注項目質(zhì)量、學(xué)生可用的設(shè)施、教職員工能力、國際上的留學(xué)生,以及項目聲譽;同時,參考目前的QS學(xué)科排名、Design Intelligence排名以及《衛(wèi)報》大學(xué)指南,反映了幾乎全世界最好的建筑學(xué)碩士項目。榜單選出了全球22個碩士學(xué)位項目,并由專家委員會進行驗證。

The list refers to 11 educational performance indicators and 41 sub-indices for selection, focusing on project quality, student facilities, faculty and staff capabilities, international students, and project reputation; at the same time, it refers to the current QS subject rankings, the Design Intelligence ranking and the "Guardian" University Guide. The list then selected 22 eligible master's degree programs from around the world and is verified by a committee of experts.

在BAM2020研討過程中,專家委員會的任務(wù)是列出11項教育績效指標(biāo)和41項子指標(biāo)的清單。這些指標(biāo)每年都會更新,以便與建筑學(xué)院相關(guān)的當(dāng)代議題保持一致。

The Expert Committee have had the task of developing the list of 11 educational-performance indicators and 41 sub-indicators during all the phases of the BAM Ranking 2020 study. These indicators are yearly updated in order to keep them aligned with contemporary issues related to the architectural academy.

2021年的排名特別強調(diào)了世界各地項目在新冠疫情下,學(xué)生旅行受限,甚至無法入校不得不線上學(xué)習(xí)(部分)的教學(xué)環(huán)境應(yīng)變能力。

This year’s ranking placed particular emphasis on the ability of the various programs around the world to adapt to a changed teaching environment due to the COVID-19 outbreak, in which international students were facing travel restrictions, perhaps couldn’t come to campus and had to follow (part of) their education online.

今年是該榜單的第四版。哈佛大學(xué)設(shè)計研究生院(GSD)的建筑碩士II項目在所有這些版本的BAM排名中都排名第一。清華大學(xué)的建筑碩士英文項目(EPMA)排名世界第五,亞洲第一。

This year is the list’s fourth edition. The Master of Architecture II program of the Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) has ranked first in the BAM ranking in all these editions. In the 2021 edition the English Program for Master in Architecture of Tsinghua University is ranked fifth in the world and first in Asia.

關(guān)于建筑學(xué)碩士英語課程(EPMA)

ABOUT THE ENGLISH PROGRAM FOR MASTER IN ARCHITECTURE (EPMA)


自2008年成立以來,EPMA項目已經(jīng)接收了來自50多個國家的學(xué)生。每年都有來自六大洲的學(xué)生的代表,就像一個建筑“聯(lián)合國”。我們的目標(biāo)是在該項目的師生中達到種族、性別和文化背景的平衡和多樣性,這本身就是可供學(xué)習(xí)的環(huán)境。EPMA項目也是一個開放的平臺,學(xué)生可以通過它獲得國內(nèi)所有的學(xué)術(shù)和專業(yè)資源,而作為回報,EPMA項目催化那些促進世界社會變革的解決方案。 

Since the founding of our program in 2008, we have received students from more than 50 countries. Our student body represents six continents every year, as an architectural “united nations”, and we aim to establish a balanced diversity in ethnicity, gender and background amongst the students and staff in each year of the program, as a learning environment in itself.

我們將建筑學(xué)歸入城市和各自地區(qū)更廣泛的發(fā)展中,我們的課程將批判性的學(xué)術(shù)氛圍與現(xiàn)實世界的問題相結(jié)合。我們相信,我們在21世紀面臨的主要建筑問題,不是關(guān)于風(fēng)格或關(guān)于“異域”的理論辯論,它們是關(guān)于可持續(xù)性和責(zé)任。它們涉及到我們建成環(huán)境的全生命周期。不僅僅是建設(shè)過程,也包括翻修改造;不僅僅是建成環(huán)境的物理結(jié)構(gòu),也包括我們生活空間中的整體能量流動。

We believe that the main architectural problems we are facing in the 21st century are not about style or about purely academic theoretical debate, they are about sustainability and responsibility. They concern the entire process and life span of our built environment. Not just the building process, but also the re-building process; and not just the physical structures of our environment, but also the positive energy flow of our living space as a whole.

近年來,我們一直鼓勵學(xué)生參加符合我們課程主題的國際學(xué)生設(shè)計競賽。

In recent years, we have been encouraging are students to take part in international student design competitions that fit with the topics of our curriculum.

這非常成功,例如,2021年,我們的學(xué)生在國際住宅建筑概念設(shè)計競賽中,從35個國家的328個參賽作品中脫穎而出,獲得了一等獎和三等獎;2020年,我們的一個學(xué)生團隊在國際Kaira Looro競賽中,從400多個參賽作品中獲得了二等獎;2019年,兩名學(xué)生在美國芝加哥的高層建筑和城市生境委員會組織的學(xué)生設(shè)計競賽中獲勝。

These have been very successful. For instance, in 2021 our students took home 1stand 3rdprize in the International Residential Architecture Conceptual Design Competition, out of 328 entries from 35 countries; in 2020 one of our student teams earned 2ndprize in the international Kaira Looro competition, out of 400+ entries; and in 2019 two students won the Student Design Competition organized by the Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat in Chicago, USA.

我們的學(xué)生在論文理論研究中也表現(xiàn)出色,近年來屢獲殊榮,其中一名學(xué)生在2021年榮獲首屆關(guān)肇鄴獎學(xué)金設(shè)計獎。

Our students have also performed excellent in their theoretical research within the university thesis program, achieving several excellent thesis awards in recent years, and one of our students winning the inaugural Guan Zhaoye Scholarship Design Award in 2021.

對建成環(huán)境的影響

EFFECT ON THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT


我們將設(shè)計研究與設(shè)計實踐相結(jié)合,這是評審團認可我們項目的一個重要原因也是我們的獨特之處之一。自2017 年以來,我們嘗試每年將設(shè)計課程與物理空間實踐聯(lián)系起來。白塔寺的共享大院是第一個成功案例,該項目改造了北京歷史街區(qū)一棟破舊的四合院。學(xué)生們從概念設(shè)計到項目實施深度參與到項目建成環(huán)節(jié)之中。近期開展的實踐項目則包括了河北省張家口/崇禮地區(qū)的幾個村莊的設(shè)計改造。

One of the unique aspects of our program which was recognized by the jury was also how we integrate design research with design practice.  Since 2017 our program aims to connect on of our design studios every year to a physical implementation. These include the Sharing Courtyard at the White Pagoda Temple(2017).Recent explorations have included work on the masterplan design of several disadvantaged villages in Hebei province.

項目出版物

PROGRAM PUBLICATIONS


最后,為了讓更多人知曉該項目,我們出版了該項目的設(shè)計和研究的雙語成果。2020年,我們把清華大學(xué)出版社過去10年間出版過的學(xué)生設(shè)計和論文作品進行整理和歸納,進行出版。此外,我們與新加坡國立大學(xué)的聯(lián)合設(shè)計與研究項目的成果每兩年出版一次,到目前為止已經(jīng)出版了:2019《共享城市》,2016《知識城市·大學(xué)校園與城市》。

Lastly, to spread our program’s work to a wider audience, we work to publish the designs and research developed in the program through bilingual publications. In 2020 we started with a publication overview of selected student design and thesis works of the past 10 years. In addition we have a bi-annual publication series of the joint design and research program between our EPMA program and NUS Singapore. These include 2019 Sharing Cities; 2016 Knowledge City,Campus vs. City.
